Mathematics

Our maths masterclasses are designed to support all our pupils in positively engaging with our maths curriculum. The aim of these sessions is to either support pupils in areas of the maths curriculum that may need more consolidation or to pre-teach topics to enhance pupil engagement within the main lessons. Other sessions may be used to challenge pupils through problem-solving and investigation. 

• Year 5 Numeracy sessions

• Year 5 and 6 Success@arithmetic

• Pre-teach sessions following the curriculum 

• 2 x 1hr sessions masterclass per group

• GDS groups 

• Sessions within lessons to support topic work for all year groups.

Maths Masterclasses are planned using a variety of resources. Use of NCETM, third space learning, success@ arithmetic materials, LBQ, CGP resources and bespoke sessions created based on our planning. The use of manipulatives and technology has enhanced engagement and aided in plugging the gaps for pupils.​
